What does a dive package in Canada cost?
Packages across the 1 resorts we track fall into a single band — Under $500 per person, per night per person, normally quoted for a fixed number of nights with two or three boat dives a day, all meals and tank fills included. Drysuit and regulator rental, nitrox fills and the transfer from the gateway are the line items most often billed separately.
When is the best time to dive here?
Operators run year-round. Visibility is at its best from late autumn through early spring, when the plankton bloom has died back — 20 to 30 metres is common in winter against 5 to 10 in midsummer. Water temperature barely moves across the year, so the trade-off is visibility against daylight hours, not warmth.
What certification and equipment do I need?
Open Water is the practical minimum and Advanced is expected for the current-swept wall sites. Drysuit certification or documented drysuit experience is required by most operators here. Water sits close to 8–10°C year-round, so a drysuit, hood and dry gloves are standard rather than optional.
How do you get there?
Most dive resorts in Canada are reached by scheduled flight or road to the nearest regional airport, then a boat crossing run by the resort. Crossings are weather-dependent and can shift by a day, so leave a buffer before any onward flight.
