About Lodgewise

Booking a remote lodge in Canada is unusually hard to research. Rates are quoted in incompatible ways — per person, per party, per package, with or without the aircraft. Season windows are narrow and species-driven. Half the properties worth knowing about have websites that were last redesigned a decade ago, and the other half are buried under aggregators that add a margin and tell you nothing useful.

Lodgewise exists to make those properties comparable. We track 9 lodges across 7 categories and 7 regions, recording the same fields for every one: rate band, typical per-person cost, season window, capacity, access method, amenities and audience. Every record is compiled from the operator's own published material, rewritten in our own words, and dated.

What we are not

We are not a booking engine and we take no commission on your trip. We are not an affiliate site — there are no affiliate links anywhere in this directory. We do not accept free stays, and no operator gets advance sight of what we publish about them.

We are also not exhaustive, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. Coverage is deepest where we have done the most work, and there are good properties we have not reached yet. If you run one, tell us.

How we are funded

Operators pay us for qualified enquiries, and sponsored placements are labelled wherever they appear. Neither buys a better review or a higher position in our research. The full arrangement, including what we charge and what happens to your enquiry, is written out on the methodology page.
